The Sweet Colleens are a Minneapolis-based quintet of accomplished multi–instrumentalists who fuse their diverse musical backgrounds into a high energy, crowd-pleasing mix of Celtic folk-rock with Americana and Cajun seasonings. With infectious original songs, warm vocal harmonies, and fiery instrumental arrangements, The Sweet Colleens have won a loyal local following and fans across the Midwest and beyond.
The heart of the band is Jeremy Greenhouse, expat Canadian vocalist/fiddler/guitarist/songwriter and default bandleader; Pete Sandvik, accordionist/keyboardist/vocalist and Twin Cities music-scene vet who never met a stranger; Dave Bade, bass player/vocalist, musical polymath and producer; and Jeff Gram, master of the drum-kit and steel-drum and classically trained percussionist.
Best known for their live shows, The Sweet Colleens have been lighting up Irish pubs, bars, festivals, and theaters for over twenty years, invariably leaving listeners tapping their toes, singing along, and smiling. The Sweet Colleens have also been prolific in the recording studio, releasing five full-length records, including a beloved kids record in collaboration with the prestigious Minneapolis Youth Chorus.
“At the end of the day,” says Greenhouse, “from bad nights to good ones, sweaty bars to swanky theaters, making music with your best friends and being able to share it with others is, well….sweet.” Indeed.
